Statue of one of the most known ex-mayors of Zagreb – V. Holjevac

Zagreb has many statues around the city dedicated to the people who have contributed the city, Croatia or even the world. This post is dedicated to one of the most known ex-mayors of Zagreb – Veceslav Holjevac. He has been mayor from 1952 to 1962, and he deserved his statue located on the street named by him, just next to the Liberty Bridge.

The monument is located there since the 1994, and it was made by the sculptor Zvonimir Gracan, and the cool thing about is (except the fact it looks really nice) that you can see the a couple of well known Zagreb’s locations behind it (Zagreb’s cathedral, the Medvednica Mountain, the Ilica Skycraper, the Upper town…).
